Abstract
|
|
|
This is a report of 4 cases of adrenocortical tumor which were treated at the Department of
Surgery, Presbyterian Medical Center in Chunju from Feb. 1966 to Aug. 1970.
1. There were 3 cases of cushing¢¥s syndrome and 1 cases of Conn¢¥s syndrome clinically.
2. Histologically, 2 cases of 3 Cushin¢¥s syndrome had adenoma and one had carcinoma. The
cases of Conn¢¥s syndrome had carcinoma.
3. One patient of Cushin¢¥s syndrome died before definitive treatment was institued. The rema
ining three cases had complete removal of the tumor and additional D.R.T. to two cases of
carcinoma.
4. The patient with adenoma died of recurrence of symptoms 5 months after the operation.
The case of the Conn¢¥s syndrome had gross recurrence of the carcinoma at the site of surgery
5 months after the surgery and is resumed dead. The other case has symptomatic improvement
so far, but the ultimate result remains to be seen.
